Our environmental charter

La nature au coeur du Domaine de Lanis
Respect for the environment is paramount to us. For us, for you, and for future generations, we are doing everything we can to minimize the impact of our activities on the environment. We are convinced that small steps taken by each person, according to their beliefs and abilities, will move us all forward toward a more sustainable world.
Here are some of our actions:
We save water
In order to reduce our water consumption, we made choices during the renovation:
- No bathtubs, only showers designed to limit water consumption.
- Low flow faucets.
- Dual flush toilets that save 50% of water consumption in all our toilets.
- And every month we read our water meter to monitor our consumption and identify any leaks.
We sort and limit our waste
- We sort all of our waste: glass on one side and cardboard, plastic cans, etc. on the other.
- We made our composter for our food waste and have a space for our other plant waste to return it to the earth.
- We have two bins in each room. One in the shower room for non-recyclable waste and one in the bedroom for recyclable paper, cardboard, coffee capsules, etc.
- We favor bulk and recyclable and/or reusable packaging, and especially avoid products with excessive packaging. The significant proportion of homemade products allows us to significantly limit this packaging.
We save energy
- The corridors are equipped with motion detectors and/or timers.
- We replaced the oil boilers with reversible heat pumps.
- We limit heating to the hottest 22°C and air conditioning to the coldest 22°C.
- All our windows are double-glazed.
- To limit the evaporation of the pool water and gain a few additional degrees and thus avoid using a heat pump, we installed a solar curtain and chose an anthracite gray liner.
- We favor low-consumption electrical appliances.
- We check the condition of the cold/heat equipment once a year.
- We only use LED lamps.
We buy responsibly
- We favor local, seasonal and organic products for meals and eco-labeled products for cleaning.
- We encourage the purchase of products made in France such as bedding, sheets, etc. or second-hand purchases, particularly for furniture and some household appliances.
- We have banned individually packaged hospitality and hygiene products.
- For your comfort, we have chosen to provide a courtesy tray in each room. It is composed of organic tea, coffee, and sugar; the capsules are 100% recyclable.
- We work with the ESAT Atelier du Lauragais Castelnaudary for bed linen maintenance. The ESAT is a medical-social establishment whose objective is the social and professional integration of adults with disabilities.
We are attentive to the well-being of our customers
- Our establishment is completely non-smoking.
- For meals, we favor homemade dishes made from local, seasonal and/or organic products.
- We have provided carafes and glasses in each room and also offer filtered water in carafes for meals or on request.
- The products used for maintenance are all eco-labeled, which offers better air quality and fewer health risks.
- We have banned bleach, which is irritating to the respiratory tract and toxic to aquatic organisms.
- We provide our customers with information booklets and brochures about the animal and plant species located in the surrounding area, as well as documents for soft mobility (transport timetables, bicycle rental and repair shops, maps of bicycle or hiking routes, etc.).
- We have written an eco-friendly guide.
Some of these actions received partial funding from Ademe.
We have already planned new actions for the coming years to perfect our approach and will continue to add more, do not hesitate to send us your ideas!
